Planning

While the Goal Identification and Analysis phases of the lifecycle focus on what young activists would like to accomplish as part of their projects, the Planning phase concentrates on how they would like to do that. More specifically, it is during this phase that the young participants identify:

  • the major steps and milestones involved in their project implementation
  • the people they would like to contact to help them out
  • the materials they are going to need
  • the tools (digital or not) that they would like to use

In general, it is a good idea to create a timeline for the project and list everything that needs to be done in a large piece of paper that could be hanged on the wall. In case the materials required are not available, the plan will also have to include means to obtain the things that are missing.

In order to help young activists reflect about the importance of different people in their lives, an interesting activity is the representation of their personal social networks.
