In many ways, the process through
which young activist’s projects are implemented is equally
or more important than the more concrete outcomes produced.
Even if projects end up evolving in unexpected ways they still
provide the participants with rich opportunities to develop
positive attitudes towards themselves, learn personally relevant
things about their communities, and acquire important skills
for their present and future lives. In
this section, we present a series of example-activities that
can be used to highlight important aspects from different
phases of the project lifecycle. Although most of the activities
have already been tested out in different YAN locations, feel
free to use them as is or to adapt them in any way you may
find appropriate. Ideally we would like to keep refining the
existing activities and adding more to the repertoire. Please
let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions. Your feedback
is really important to us! Please send us your contributions
to yan@media.mit.edu.
