In this project, I am developing software tools to manage and assist in the development of narratives and their representations. The ideas underlying such a tool have grown out of story discussions for Death and the Powers, conversations about pre-production tools with Alex McDowell, and my association with the Media Lab's Center for Future Storytelling.
The current tools allow for character and plot arcs to be visualized over the course of a story. Seeing these properties aids in the creation of additional artifacts—such as storyboards, color studies, scripts, and music—that can then be incorporated into the tool's representation.
