Broad Visualization Group

The Broad Visualization Group, of which I am a member, is founded by Artist in Residence Daniel Kohn at the Broad Institute. The Visualization Group is a collaboration among members within The Broad as well as students and researchers from the larger MIT and Harvard communities to explore new ways to represent data that are of value for researchers in genomics and the scientific community at large. We evaluate existing tools, identify needs that are not met by current methods of data representation and interaction, and develop new paradigms, frameworks, and software to address the views that are lacking. The goal of this effort is to answer questions that could not be answered by looking at genomics information in traditional representations and even to discover new patterns and questions by visually relating data in ways never before seen.
