Music by Leopold Godowsky
A trove of hard-to-find scores by the incomparable Leopold Godowsky. Most of these are long out of print and were photographed for my own research use. As of this writing, Carl Fischer is reissuing collected volumes in what appears to be a comprehensive series: a must for any fan. To date, only one volume has issued. Scores open in a new window. Images scale to the window width. I find it handy to read them on my laptop at the piano. Click on a page to "turn it" and skip to the next one. Each page is a GIF file at approx. 200dpi (gray scale), sized to be 10.5" high. So, you should be able to print from the browser and get one full-sized image per page. I print 2-up in landscape layout, and only carry the sheets I'm working on, rather than piles of thick scores in a heavy briefcase. Of some interest are the Star Spangled Banner, and the Last Waltz, neither of which seem to turn up in the catalogs of works that I've seen. A few other Godowsky links: www.godowsky.com
