It isn't a regular habit, but it's always a treat to play at WGBH.
Cathy Fuller and I had talked about doing a show on song arrangements. My original idea was to mix Leopold Godowsky with Art Tatum but three unexpected trips came up that wiped out 6 weeks from Nov through Dec 12. So the program instead contained some Bach and small Chopin pieces, with a focus on Tatum in the middle. I played a couple of Tatum arrangements and also brought in some rare recordings to give people a sense of what he sounded like, both as a pianist and as a personality.
