Research on new ways for individuals and communities to communicate and collaborate. Built and launched a web based ‘visual microblogging’ system that allowed people to document and share their everyday data and create info-graphical portraits of their lives. Currently developing a new programming environment to encourage co-operation between distributed programmers within communities of practice. Gave numerous presentations to sponsors in both small and large groups.
Software development on NextText and TextEngine libraries for dynamic typography and its integration with real time human performance respectively. Design, both technical and aesthetic, and implementation of installation and performance art pieces using said libraries. Led a team of three developers (coordinated software development schedule and process) during my last six months there.
Gave tutorials to aid student understanding of material presented in class. Prepared practice exercises & learning resources. Marked assignments and provided feedback to students. Courses include:
Spent summer researching techniques for optimized graphical rendering on the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) for later implementation in the NextText library. Prepared report on findings for other CIAM researchers.
