Eye Society is a research project exploring the problem of collaborative problem solving by a group of completely autonomous robotic mobile cameras. The project is based on Applied Data System's strongarm bitsy platform thanks to their generous support of of this project.

The Bitsy is a small Strongarm computer using the SA1110/SA1111 chipset. It runs linux and supports wireless communication and USB host capability, as well as serial and digital io control. USB host capability is required for camera operation. This combination makes it close to ideal as a relatively high powered robotics controller, in a small and light form factor.

Using the Bitsy we hope to explore real time video capture from multiple mobile robotic cameras, which collaborate to capture, process and react to visual scene data, in an intelligent and hopefully useful fashion.
