Update (Sep 1 2014): I am now an Assistant Professor with the School of Communication and Information at Rutgers University. My new home page is here. I still hold a Visiting Assistant Professor position with the Media Lab and will continue to collaborate on projects. Prospective students, post-docs and other collaborators, please use my Rutgers email address.

Until reccently (Aug 31 2014) I was a post-doctoral researcher working with the Human Dynamics group led by Professor Sandy Pentland at the MIT Media lab. My Ph.D. thesis was on 'Personalized Situation Recognition' for which I worked with Professor Ramesh Jain at the University of California, Irvine. I obtained my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the National University of Singapore and worked for four years as a Lecturer at Institute of Technical Education (Macpherson), Singapore.

My research interests lie at the intersection of Big Data, Social Computing, and Multimodal Information Systems. Feel free to check out my Google Scholar profile.
