Hi, welcome to Peggy's website! I'll soon start pursuing my PhD in CS at UC Berkeley,
supported by the Berkeley Fellowship for Graduate Study. I received my M.S. from the MIT Media Lab
in 2010, where I was awarded as a lab fellow. I also hold a M.S. in Computer Science in 2008
and a B.B.A. in Information Management in 2006 from National Taiwan University.
My research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Intelligent Systems, Storytelling,
and Ubiquitous Computing. My goal is to design intelligent interfaces that enhance and improve
our daily experiences, such as sharing stories, capturing life moments, using electronic devices,
and cooking. My major research projects include:
Raconteur: From Chat to Stories
(2009-2010)
Raconteur is a system for conversational storytelling between a storyteller and a viewer.
It provides intelligent assistance in illustrating a life story with photos and videos from a
personal media library.

Goal-Oriented Interfaces for Consumer Electronics
(2008)
Using common-sense reasoning, we are building a system, Roadie, with knowledge about the
user's intentions; this knowledge will help the device to display relevant information
to reach the user's goal.

Calorie-Aware Kitchen
(2006-2008)
This work presents a smart kitchen with Ubicomp technology to improve home cooking by
providing the number of calories of ingredients that are used in prepared meals.
In doing so, family cooks can more effectively control the meal calories based on family
needs.
