A to A: The World in Harmony is a project in collaboration with Luys Foundation as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the United States Embassy in Armenia. We worked with the Luys to bring Hyperscore to children throughout Armenia and students from the Armenian Sisters' Academy in Boston and engage them in musical expression and collaboration through composition. In addition to over one hundren individual and small-group pieces, children from Armenia and Boston also collaborated on a joint composition during video conference workshops. I had the pleasure of teaching Hyperscore to the children from Boston and facilitating the collaborative composition.
On February 25th, 2012 a celebratory concert was held at the Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall in Armenia, featuring the Dogma Armenian rock band and the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra, performed selected compositions by the children from both countries as well as the collaborative work titled “Frenzy of Friendship”.
