My Short Bio
I earned my PhD at MIT Media Lab on 2007. Since then, I have founded the Media Innovation Lab (milab) at IDC Herzliya, Israel. At the Media Innovation Lab mixed groups of students from the schools of Communications and Computer Science invent, prototype, and research the next media experiences, in an effort to generate insights about the future of media and technology. The Media Innovation Lab core courses include New Media Innovation, Media Convergence, Interaction Design, Urban Media Experiences and more. Additional MIT Media Lab alums at the Media Innovation Lab include Dr. Natalia Marmasse and Dr. Guy Hoffman.

Before MIT (1999-2001) I was the co-founder of an Internet startup that created a "decentralized blogging community", some people say we were ahead of our times. On 2001, the World Economic Forum recognized me as a "Technology Pioneer" at the annual forum in Davos, Switzerland.

My courses are about the convergence of traditional and new media, cross-platform (transmedia) entertainment, and interaction design. My research is about new forms of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Systems Thinking, and Media Engagement.

My View About the New Media Revolution
A technological revolution has immediate and delayed consequences. During the 80s and 90s we experienced two technological revolutions: the digital revolution and the connectivity revolution. We are now almost completing the immediate consequences of these revolutions - all media content is digital, available on multiple platforms, accessible to us when we want it. We are just starting to experience the delayed consequences of these revolutions - people want more social interaction, more involvement in media creation, more targeted and relevant content, more creative expression, and more engagement. There is still much to come. In the next decade, we will experience more media innovation than ever before.
