Upper Air

The Upper Air Project, whose name comes from the etymology of "ether," was created by the DSP Music Syndicate specifically for exhibition in City Hall Park, lower Manhattan, as part of the event Spectropolis , put on by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council in the Summer of 2004.

The purpose of the event was to increase awareness of the possibilities of wireless communications in the public. For example, to persuade people that wireless internet access everywhere in cities is a good thing. Our project generated music from the electromagnetic spectrum. It connected people with the invisible world of radio waves...
