Replacing the foam base

The base should not have to be replaced frequently. First look for a relatively clear area even if it is not in the lower left hand corner. If there is no room left, and you need to replace it:

1. Wear gloves or something to protect your hands! Make sure the printing heads are at rest. Turn the knob in the lower left hand corner of the image to the left. Pull on the handle in the middle of the image to pull out the base. Remove the skewers located on all four sides of the base.

2. Check to see if the reverse side of the current base is good. If so, that may be used. If not, put in a new foam base.

3. Replace the skewers. (it helps to turn the base upside down to ensure that the foam is flat when putting the skewers back in.

4. Put the tray back in the 3D printer. Turn the knob in the lower left hand corner to the right.
