Selected Projects
keeping pointer on photos shows the project name.
PINO (2001-2003)
PINO is a humanoid robot which had been developed in Kitano
Symbiotic Systems Project, ERATO, JST. PINO is composed by only off-the-shelf
components and expected as a standard of humanoid robot like Linux for OSs.
A robot designer, Tatsuya Matsui, worked on the exterior design. PINO was
commercialized by ZMP.
Kitano Symbiotic Systems Project, ERATO, JST ZMP flower robotics Posy (2001-2002)
Posy is a humanoid robot inspired by a wedding flower girl.
A robot designer, Tatsuya Matsui, designed the appearence of the robot. This
robot had been developed by SGI Japan.
SGI Japan (in japanese) flower robotics P-noir (2001)
P-noir is a humanoid robot which looks like a piero. A robot
designer, Tatsuya Matsui, designed this robot since robots at that time were
treated just as a entertainer, not as useful tools.
flower robotics morph3 (2003-2005)
morph3 is a humanoid robot which had been built by Kitano
Symbiotic Systems Project and an industrial designer, Shunji Yamanaka. We tried
to implements as many sensors as possible into this small body. Multi CPU network
system is also implemented to use sensor info as well as drive motors.
Leading Edge Design Kitano Symbiotic Systems Project, ERATO, JST Future Robotics Technology Center Hallcigenia01 (2003-2005)
Creative box, Leading Edge Design and Future Robotics Technology
Center cooperated to develop 8-leg-8-wheel automobile robot, Hallcigenia01.
Hallcigenia is a creature which used to exist at Cambrian time. This robot
suggested new type of automobile against old fashon which is equipped with
4 wheels and one engine.
Creative Box Leading Edge Design Kitano Symbiotic Systems Project, ERATO, JST Future Robotics Technology Center WIND Robot System(2004-2005)
WIND (Wireless Intelligent Networked Device ) Robot System
is a new interface to control robots. This device detect human motion using
IMUs and transfer signal with wireless network to robots.
Leading Edge Design Future Robotics Technology Center kzlight (2006)
kzlight had been developed for light exhibition at Tokyo
University of Science. During midnight, this flower is lambent with blue and
green color. It opens its petals when the sun rises and light the flower up.
robo-one class@MIT (2007-)
Robo-one worshop is an IAP class newly offered in 2007.
In this class, participants used commercialized humanoid robot and powerful
CPU units and learned basic knowledge all about robots.
