Hyun-Yeul Lee

I completed my Ph.D. at the MIT Media Laboratory in the Media Fabrics Group (formerly known as the Interactive Cinema Group). Glorianna Davenport, Bill Mitchell, and Gordon Bell served as my thesis committee members. My research focuses on how "storiedness" can shape the design of our built environment and experiences.

My research interests root from a two-fold: I am an advocate for Design Thinking and Design Process, and an advocate for a responsible Design Practice - "the why, what, how, and can". I am also concerned with how our notion of cultural heritage and value, evidenced through objects are lost sooner and faster as we progress through these decades.

You can find my blog on Designing Issues here. You can find my current website here.
