clothesline alarm (2005)
design and implementation of a zero-interface device for clothesline tension analysis and alarm; aluminum and custom electronics.
in collaboration with jeff lieberman.
An electronic device that proxies between a regular clothesline and the wall-mount and uses a combination of force-sensors and on-chip pattern recognition to analyze the leveling tension on the line.
It is designed as a zero-interface device, automatically turning on when mounted, and with only a single LED and a buzzer indicating state: red means that the laundry is still drying, green indicates the end of the dry cycle. When the device is removed it turns itself off.
