Talking in Spaces
The first in a series of projects infusing notions of space and distance into mobile telephone conversations. Based on the Chat Circles platform and Talking in Circles.

  • This iconic representation is a 2d conversation space in which participants can move their circles around, very much like Chat Circles. Here, there is no sense of individuals' locations, other than in the graphical chat space.
    This depiction is the first sketch that integrates the idea of geography into the representation of participants. Ego is in the center, and others are placed at various points on a circle around Ego. This might be useful for finding others in a crowd. This depiction does not include information about distance; in future sketches, size and color will be used to provide richer information.
