Carlos Barrios, in the Introduction to Catia describes the
modeling software as a "fully integrated development
interface for solid and surface modeling, and also for engineering
analysis and manufacturing."
This tool along with the Rhino scripting program was used
by the students in course 4.182 to develop the models that
would eventually take physical form via the 3D printer.
