Cory Kidd recently completed his Ph.D. in the area of Human-Robot Interaction in the Personal Robots Group at the MIT Media Lab. His work combines ideas from human-computer interaction, ubiquitous computing, psychology, and social psychology to create sociable robot systems that can help users in a variety of situations. His Ph.D. thesis concerned the creation of a Autom, a robotic weight loss coach that has been developed and deployed to study long-term human-robot interaction.
