I love to travel, when I can afford it. My junior year in college, I went to London and Paris. London is an excellent city-- I would have to say one of my favorites in the world. I'm really into history, so the Tower of London was the highlight of my trip. But don't just take my word for it! Read about my trip and see the pictures!
The summer after my junior year, I went to China to study Mandarin Chinese at Peking University. After studying for six weeks, I travelled down to Shanghai and got a chance to see Hangzhou, Suzhou, and Shanxi. Shanghai is truly the New York City of the Orient. It's very large, very cosmopolitan, and is growing very fast. I have a lot of pictures from China, but I have yet to scan them in and put them up on the web. Sorry. Maybe later.
My grandparents are still in Greece, as well as some distant cousins. In November, 1998, I stayed in Greece for a month and travelled, as well as visited my grandparents in their small village, Kroke-e (pronounced something like Kroe-keh-eh'). I am planning to return to Greece in the summer. Despite all the photos I took, and the fact that I own a scanner, I have still not put my pictures up on the web, yet. Pathetic, isn't it? :)
Another place I had been to a lot was Berkeley. The area is just wonderful to visit, despite being ridiculously expensive. The city of Berkeley has a homepage, as does San Francisco. I did live there for a year, and, due to the expense and the necessity of driving everywhere, I do not recommend it. I preferred my experiences both in Cambridge, MA and Pittsburgh, PA.
