Alexandr Lebed has won the gubernatorial runoff in
Krasnoyarsk, Siberia! This ensures that the General will continue his
political carreer and be well placed for a presidential run in the year
2000. It just be noted that Gen. Lebed faced opposition from both Communisted
and the so-called reformist leadership. What he needs to do now is engaged in
some party building in anticipation of the year 2000 presidential election.
