Everett the Dog Ever present at my side through my days in Cambridge is my dog Everett. He is with me nearly every moment of the day - classes, lab, office, SETC, and the long walks to and from school every day. He is a warm bundle of pure energy and happiness and brightens my day immeasurably. Everett the dog is named after an exceptionally eloquent writer and artist, Everett Ruess, whose letters, poems, and wood block prints accompanied me on many solo treks. Both Everetts tell me that life must be lived intensely despite the incessant attempts of the rest of the world to trap and force me into a grey world of artificial constructs.
