February 2008: Manufacturing a run of Siftables for my own work and collaborations with researchers in academia and industry.

December 2007: The Sound of Touch was installed in the Collision 12 art+technology show in the MIT Stata Center, Cambridge MA.

Autumn 2007: Siftables Development. This fall I am finishing the hardware and operating system for Siftables, and exploring the space of possible applications.

October 5, 2007: Critique! I "defended" my Ph.D. thesis proposal to my readers, and interested parties from the Media Lab community. Slides are here.

August 5-9, 2007: SIGGRAPH. Hayes Raffle and I showed the Sound of Touch at SIGGRAPH 2007, in Emerging Technologies (E-Tech). Here is the page for the SIGGRAPH demo, and here are some photos from the exhibition.

July 10, 2007: Sound of Touch in the news. The Sound of Touch was featured in an article on Discovery News.

May 19-20, 2007: Maker Faire. Ben Vigoda, David Bouchard and I took Audiopint to the Maker Faire in San Mateo, CA. More info about the faire here, and until the 19th, our virtual booth is here. My photos from the event can be found here.

April 21st, 2007: Laetitia Sonami, Joel Ryan, and Inventmusic. Along with other InventMusic collaborators, I played at a concert April 21st, 2007 at Killian Hall (MIT). We are 1/3 of the evening's musical entertainment, along with Ryan and Sonami. [full post], [poster]

April 18th, 2007: Inventmusic jam session. We had a public jam session that brought people together to play with the PureJoy-JamiOki installation in the Stata building.

March 16th, 2007: I was on the front page of the wall street journal today, in an article that has absolutely nothing to do with my research! Well, I suppose you've got to start somewhere :)

March 2007, 2007: I moderated a panel discussion for Grad Arts at MIT on the 7th. The topic: ambiance!

February 2007: I co-led an AudioPint-building workshop at the Media Lab. We made a lot of progress, and now there are more AudioPints out there in the world! pictures here.

Fall '06: I worked with Joe Paradiso to TA his class Principles of Electronic Music Controllers. Pictures from final presentations are here.

Summer 2006: Ben Vigoda and I have launched inventmusic.org, a website/blog that chronicles our regular music technology build-days and performances, and archives photos and video covering our exploits. check it out!
